Synopsis: Very important book or essay on Valencian medicine. Written by Lluís Alcanyís, a doctor born in Xàtiva, author of many books and new medical techniques. He was burnt at the stake in 1506, whilst his works were dismantled. An essay which at the same time advised on remedies and formulas for fighting against the plague, gives also culinary and gastronomic advice on wine, meat, fish and vegetables, sauces and other condiments. It also refers to resting, taking a siesta and the evening. According to Professor Enrique Llobregat, of exceptional significance are the handwritten notes which appear in the copy reproduced, surely made by Alcanyís himself.
