Synopsis:

We leave this piece of work to present itself (using its rich language):

‘This is a peaceful “obrezilla” [little work], and of pleasure, art manual as well as being very useful for many excellent gentlemen; and approved and passed by many male doctors’. The reader will find information on so many things! “To take away tooth ache”, “sneezing”, “to see whether a woman is pregnant with a boy or girl” (there are 59 different situations). What more could you ask for in ten pages, not counting the title page and the contents page, even leaving one page aside for the purpose of inviting the reader to enter Valencia via the Torres de Serranos?

This is a curious collection of popular and comic recipes that were translated by the Italian Juan Ramón de Transmiera and signed here as Juan Agüero de Transmiera. The Spanish Text of this edition of Cristobal Cofman was printed in Valencia and is a copy of an edition from Salamanca, whose whereabouts now are unknown.
