Synopsis:

This is the famous Libro del Ojo, as it appears on the title page of the volume, by the physician to the Catholic Monarchs, Diego Álvarez Chanca of Seville, who accompanied Columbus on his second journey and was very briefly quoted by Nicolás Antonio.

This edition was unknown to Konrad Haebler and does not appear in the Gesamtkatalog der Wiegendrucke. Particularly noteworthy are the ornamental border at the start of the text which depicts insects and other animals interwoven with stems and flowers.
