Synopsis:

On the title page the complete title is Cancionero de diuersas obras de nueuo trobadas: hechas y corregidas por el padre fray Ambrosio Montesino de la orden de los menores (all written and corrected by Father fray Ambrosio Montesino of minor order). The complete poetic work, of a famous Spanish author, very well known as a translator of the famous Vita Christi of Ludolphus of Saxonia, by custom order of Cardinal Francisco Jiménez de Cisneros.

This edition in all his verses, takes the beginning a “Meaningful letter... for King Don Fernando our Lord”, that is the best expression to introduce the content (the author helps us from rush which is always present):

“Your excellence had always asked me to compile all the studies on the subject and mystery of our faith, and I have compiled devotion songs from the past and now that I could see a rest from the storm of my occupation next to preaching, I have created this work on your appointment. In it, I have sent to the printer everything that helps to serve God and to you...”

A divine book of songs, where there are no missing prose texts. He was a celebrated author of his time: people who ordered and appreciated his texts a great deal.
