Who doesn’t like a party? Who doesn’t remember the traditional festivals of our home towns? This is our focus in this book, because the Valencian Community is made up of a great number of villages, towns and regions which all have their own fiesta.

For this book, we have put together a compilation of many of these festivals, in chronological order, in order to provide an idea of the rich and varied folklore behind them, to record them and make them better known to all. The authors had first-hand experience of these festivals, enabling them to depict them in all their glory and to provide a description which is accessible and full of the human side of these events. The eye-catching photography for each festival gives the reader a sense of their character, and of a way of experiencing and living one’s life.

Festivals covered include: St. John’s eve, “La Magdalena”, "Els peregrins de Useras”, Moros y Cristianos, and the “Fallas de San José”, amongst many others.
